Here at Lake Hub, the Fourth of July is one of our most celebrated summer holidays of the year. The anticipation of getting ready for a Fourth of July party on the lake is exciting (and hectic), and for this writer, it is like this: “Are we gonna’ do a brisket AND ribs? Oooh, and what about veggie kabobs? Dad, bring all the coolers you can find, please.”
“Who’s making the potato salad and deviled eggs? Make sure Uncle Joe doesn’t bring any more than one pint of whiskey…he can have his beer…For goodness sakes, make sure the kids have extra sunscreen because you know how little Johnny loves to squirt thangs…Honey, please make sure all the emergency equipment works on the pontoon.”

Lights over Lake Bonham Fireworks Show 2024, July 6 at 9:00 PM: Lake Bonham Recreational Area 2300 Rec Road 3, Bonham. Free.
Eagle Mountain Lake
July 4th: 8p.m. to 10 p.m: Celebrate Independence Day at Cory Wride Memorial Park on July 4th for a wonderful fireworks display and celebrate freedom. DJ music is provided, while you experience the magic of fireworks synchronized to the music. Tasty treats from local food trucks apply.
Lake Grapevine
July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza: Information on the July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will be available soon. The Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau’s PR department is not giving out times as of this writing, but it will be on July 4, 2024.
4th of July Boat Party: The 4th of July Boat Party happens at Lake Grapevine’s Silver Lake Marina on July 4 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
July 4 – July 7: Check out the Wild Wild Westie for three days of dance competitions and professional performances. Tickets are $200 at the door. Wild, Wild Westie at the Hyatt Regency DFW in downtown Grapevine. The July 4 event starts at 6:00 pm.
Lake Lewisville
Liberty by the Lake Festival, July 4 at 6:00 p.m: Celebrate America’s Independence Day at the annual Liberty by the Lake festival for a phenomenal Fourth at the Athletic Club in The Colony for live music, food trucks, carnival rides, and a fireworks display set to patriotic music! 4100 Blair Oaks Drive, The Colony, TX 75056
Lake Ray Hubbard
Fireworks at Harry Myers Park, July 4 at 7:00 p.m: . The best viewing areas are Harry Myers Park, the Dobbs Elementary Tuttle Athletic Complex, and the RISD Admin Building. The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Rockwall’s annual 4th of July Parade starts at 11 a.m., which will run from Wilkerson Sanders Stadium to Dobbs Elementary. The main event at Harry Myers Park features music, food trucks, parachute jumps, and a fireworks show that will last longer than last 2023’s.
It kicks off at 7 p.m. Grab the family and your friends and also a good spot early and try out the food trucks for the upcoming great live music and fireworks at dusk. The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Possum Kingdom Lake
PK Hell’s Gate Fireworks Show, July 6: Possum Kingdom’s annual Hell’s Gate Fireworks Show is one of the best lake fireworks displays in the country. The 2024 Hell’s Gate Fireworks Show is 36 years old and happens on Saturday July 6 this year. This show is privately funded by donations, and anyone can donate. If you have never been to Possum Kingdom Lake, the following is good information.
East and West Sides of Possum Kingdom (PK) Lake
- The east side of the PK Lake area is located on the southeast area of the lake. It is approximately 30 miles northwest of Mineral Wells, Texas.
- The west side of the PK Lake area is located on the northwest area of the lake. It is approximately 20 miles south of Graham, Texas.
- The driving distance between the east and west side of the PK lake areas is about 45 minutes.
Central Texas 4th of July Activities
Lake Belton
100th Annual Belton PRCA Rodeo, July 4-6: The Lake Belton Fourth of July events include a three-night PRCA rodeo at Cadence Bank Center, an indoor, air-conditioned facility with a capacity for 5,900. Cowboys from around the country compete in the only Fourth of July PRCA event in Texas.
July 4: Free Non-Ticketed Event
The 2024 “100 Years of Rodeo” Belton Fourth of July Patriotic Program kicks off at 8 a.m. on the steps of the Bell County Courthouse. The parade rolls at 9 a.m. on Main Street/FM317 from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor south to the Bell County Courthouse, then east on Central Avenue, and north on Birdwell to the Belton Police Memorial.
After the parade, the crowd moves to the adjacent Liberty Park for the Festival on Nolan Creek with carnival rides, food and craft vendors, games, a petting zoo, static displays of military and first responder equipment, and live entertainment at the gazebo. Don’t miss the 4th Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest at High Five Hot Dogs at noon.
As the carnival winds down, Schoepf’s Backyard’s BBQ party featuring Sprung, 702 East Central Avenue, heats up. The big finale is the fireworks show after Sprung. Belton expects 30,000 attendees this year for its celebration of patriotism, traditional family values, and small-town America at the Belton 4th of July Celebration.
Lake LBJ
Fireworks Over Lake LBJ, July 4: 102.9’s Stinger will broadcast this year’s Horseshoe Bay Resort fireworks event. Rock out to synchronized music with the Horseshoe Bay fireworks where Hill Country listeners can feel the beat of the music under exploding fireworks.
Lake Marble Falls
Marble Falls July 4th Fireworks and Celebration, July 4: The Marble Falls July 4th Fireworks and Celebration is back with a new parade in Marble Falls on July 4th at Lakeside Park, 305 Buena Vista Drive. Parts of Lake Marble Falls will be closed to ensure safety of fireworks set up and detonation on Thursday, July 4th. Watercraft will not be allowed to cross buoy lines once they are set up at 6:00 pm until midnight.

Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Air Show, July 6: 6:00 p.m: Get up close and personal with fighter jets, aerial acrobatics aircraft, and formation flight teams. The 19th Annual Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Air Show is proud to present the A-26 “Lady Liberty” and other aircraft. The air show performances happen at Cedar Creek Lake just off the shores of the Pinnacle Club, 200 Pinnacle Club Drive, Mabank.
Lake Palestine
City of Palestine Independence Day Celebration, July 03: Free 9:15pm: Fireworks shoot off at A.M. Story Intermediate School, 5300 North Loop 256 at dusk. Tune in to 98.3 KYYK to hear accompanying music. Bring your family, friends, and lawn chairs. Food Trucks on site.
Oklahoma 4th of July Activities
Lake Eufaula
Eufaula’s Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show, July 5: About 9:00 p.m: The show will light up the sky with a breathtaking fireworks display over Lake Eufaula at Xtreme Cove Marina (formerly known as Eufaula Cove Marina). Festivities begin at dusk. 400 Lakeshore Drive, Eufaula.
Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees
Miami July 4th Celebration, July 4, 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m:
The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, Buffalo Run Casino, and the City of Miami present a celebration of fireworks, family, fun, music, and food. It features the largest fireworks display in Ottawa County. The festivities are at Buffalo Run Casino & Resort, 1000 Buffalo Run Boulevard, Miami.
The fun includes water inflatables, live music, free hot dogs provided by The Miami Fire Department while supplies last, and delicious cold treats from The Frozen Elephant. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
Lake Murray
July 4: 11a.m. to 9 p.m: The Lake Murray Playground features a July 4th celebration with a day of food, fun, bands, and fireworks. The Musicfest goes on all day and night at the San Carlos side of the lake at the Lake Murray Playground. The La Mesa side will be open throughout the day and evening for fireworks viewing.
Lake Texoma
One or a few could argue whether Highport Marina’s Fireworks Show rivals Possum Kingdom’s Hell’s Gate Fireworks Show. However, on Lake Texoma, there are several firework shows. Highport Marina blows up the biggest fireworks game on Lake Texoma on Independence Day.
Highport it is not the only fireworks game on the lake. Add to that mix the people who spend thousands of dollars on professional grade fireworks and set them off on beaches ringing around Lake Texoma. For days!
Highport Marina Firework Show, July 6: Free 9 p.m:
You can see this show from most areas on Lake Texoma. Boaters line up to watch it and all the other displays on the lake. The Highport Marina address: Lake Texoma, 120 Texoma Harbor Dr, Pottsboro.
Lake Texoma Fireworks Celebration, July 5: 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m at West Bay Casino & Resort:
Spend a fun-filled evening at the Lake Texoma Association Independence Day Fireworks Show for family fun or in the beer garden with live music from Jon Stork at 8 p.m. The doors open at 7:00 p.m. The fireworks show explodes right after dark about 9 p.m., following Jon Stork. Bring your lawn chairs to snag the best spot to watch the fireworks display.
Denison 2024 July 4th Fireworks, July 4: Free 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m: The show can be viewed from throughout downtown and the surrounding area. Denison encourages you to safely find a nearby parking lot or spot, grab your lawn chairs, and tune into to the simulcast on 93.1 KMKT. Munson Stadium 331 West Morgan Street, Denison.
Colbert City Parks Independence Day Fireworks Celebration, July 4: Free 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m: This event takes place at Colbert City Park, Colbert, Oklahoma. Torched Earth, Knight Lotus, and DJ Z Steve Curtis provide the music. The fireworks start about 9 p.m.
Whitesboro Riding Club’s 66th Annual 4th of July Rodeo, July 5 and 6: $8, Gates Open at 7 p.m: The rodeo concludes each night with a fireworks display. This UPRA sanctioned two-Day event features some of the best rodeo athletes demonstrating their skills in bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding, calf roping, breakaway, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping. The Whitesboro Riding Club and its annual rodeo have been a part of Texoma’s local culture and history since 1958.
Catch the Rodeo Royalty, the competition for this year’s Miss Whitesboro Riding Club Queen, Princess, and Buckerette. Royalty contestants ride both evenings and winners are crowned on Saturday night. Fourth of July Fireworks Show at Toledo Bend Marina: Head out to Toledo Bend Marina on July 5 for their annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show, launching on the beach at the northwest corner of the property, so boaters must stay outside of the cove. 64 Toledo Bend Marina Drive, Anacoco, Louisiana
Lake Pontchartrain
Fourth of July Fireworks on the Northshore: Looking for 4th of July fireworks? The Northshore is hosting many celebrations across the parish on and before the big day, from big festivals in community parks to backyard cook-outs with the family. Local towns, community sponsors and volunteers come together to celebrate the USA and Americana itself with loads of music, food, and fun, and the big finale, fireworks!

Pearl River 4th of July Celebration, July 3, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m: Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and the whole family for small town fun at this annual festival, kicking off with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. Lawn games, pie eating contest, and more.
